PLURAL+ MOLDOVA 2015: Film it! Show it! Change it!

Young filmmakers and photographers are invited to submit their works on migration and diversity till 20 November 2015.

Chisinau, 21 September 2015 - The International Organization for Migration (IOM), Mission to Moldova and The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (AoC) launched today the 7th edition of PLURAL+ Moldova  - the film and photo competition for young people from the Republic of Moldova. 

 

 
Inauguration of the Emergency Service-shelter for Migrants

17th September 2015, International Organisation for Migration, mission in Moldova, in partnership with Ministry of Labour, Social Protection and Family (MLSPF) and the Czech Development Agency (CzDA), launched the Emergency Service-Shelter for Migrants, within the Republican Asylum for invalids and pensioners of the city of Chisinau. 

 
Migrants Integration Leaflets

Within EU-funded and USA Co-funded project Strengthening Migration Management and Cooperation on Readmission in Eastern Europe (MIGRECO), thirteen thematic leaflets on migrants’ rights and integration in Moldova were elaborated. More than 20 000 copies of these leaflets in Romanian, Russian, English and Arabic languages are ready to be disseminated to the immigrants / beneficiaries of the Bureau for Migration an Asylum per their request. The leaflets cover the topics of social inclusion, assistance and protection, education and recognition of the qualification, labor integration and cultural orientation, health care and legal assistance, specific motherhood protection and specific trainings in emergency cases. This information campaign follows a flagship initiative of the IOM to promote and protect the migrants rights and liberties. Please consult them in RomanianRussianEnglish and Arabic languages.

 
Support Programmes Leaflets

The programs aim to address brain drain and brain waste via promoting the circulation of new ideas and skills acquired by the migrants in the migration process. IOM is eager to support 150 citizens who have been abroad for at least one year and who want to return to their home-country to get employed, accomplish an internship or volunteer in a private or public institution in order to promote the circulation of skills and know-how obtained abroad in their country of origin. Additional, will be supported 50 graduates who studied in foreign universities and who want to return to their home-country to get employed, accomplish an internship or volunteer for a private or public institution in order to promote the circulation of innovative ideas and skill transfer obtained abroad in their country of origin. The applicants should be citizens of the Republic of Moldova, including persons originating from the Transnistria Region.

Launch of the Program for the promotion of the return from abroad and the facilitation of temporary professional placements for returning migrants

CHIȘINĂU, 1st of June 2015 – International Organization for Migration, Mission to Moldova (IOM) announces a call for application to support 75 citizens who have been abroad for at least one year and who want to return to their home-country to get employed, accomplish an internship or volunteer in a private or public institution in order to promote the circulation of skills and know-how obtained abroad in their country of origin.
The project aims to address brain drain and brain waste via promoting the circulation of new ideas and skills acquired by the migrants in the migration process. 
This contest is open to citizens who respect the following selection criteria: 
- have been abroad for at least one year before applying to the program (the one year duration will be calculated taking into account the past two years);
- wish to return or have recently returned to their homeland, but not before than June 1st, 2015;
- want to be employed or accomplish a professional internship or volunteer in one of the public or private institutions in Moldova. 
Voluntarily returned (who decided to return home voluntarily within the Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration Program of IOM) are eligible. 
Within this contest, taking into account individual needs and the priorities of the program, IOM Moldova will offer (a) support in the identification of vacancies, (b) logistical and administrative assistance in the process of return and reintegration, (c) a monthly allowance equivalent to 150 Euro in Moldovan lei for a period up to six months to add to the basic salary where it will not be higher than/equivalent to 400 Euro in Moldovan lei, (d) and a partial reimbursement of the travel costs, supported by travel tickets, following a vulnerability criteria (maximum 50% of the total travel cost). 
To participate in this competition, interested candidates shall submit to IOM Moldova the following documents: 
1. Completed application form, which can be downloaded from www.iom.md; 
2. Scanned passport with visa attesting the migrant status in the last year (calculated cumulatively over the last 2 years), or equivalent stamp to certify the migrants’ movements; or white passport in case of loss / theft of the national passport;
3. If necessary, other supporting documents may be required and / or completed to support the period abroad. 
The program will run following the principle  "first come, first served". In the selection process, priority will be given to people who, while applying, are still abroad, and vulnerable returned people (such as single mothers, mothers with many children, people over 55 years old, people in difficulty, exposed to abuses and exploitation due to their social situations or their stay/illegal stay in a country of transit/destination).
Financial support will be given to the applicants after the jobs/internships identification and the beginning of the beneficiaries’ work collaboration. 
Applicants who will not benefit from financial support will at least receive informational and logistical assistance and access to job opportunities in the labour market.
