This handbook is one of the outcomes of the Training Seminars on Human Trafficking for Diplomatic and Consular Personnel in the Baltic Sea Region. It has been designed to be easy to use for consular and diplomatic personnel, to refer to and guide them when dealing with a situation that could be a case of human trafficking. As one of its strategic activities, between 2008 and 2010 the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) Task Force against Trafficking in Human Beings with focus on adults (TF-THB) initiated a series of Training Seminars carried out jointly with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Mission to Moldova, with input from national experts from NGOs and governmental authorities, in the Member States of the CBSS and beyond. |

The business start-up guide is a practical reference self-help guide designed to provide those interested in starting their own business with an overview of the information they require and the issues that need to be considered, also including helpful information for those in the early stages of growing their businesses.
The respective guide was developed in close coordination with local partners, from the Government, private sector and technical assistance programs partners, building on the previous initiatives of the same nature, based on existing realities, current business environment and entrepreneurial culture, legislative framework, economic related policies of the country, as well as specific entrepreneurs' needs. The business guide has been produced as part of the project "Beyond Poverty Alleviation: Developing a Legal, Regulatory and Institutional Framework for Leveraging Migrant Remittances for Entrepreneurial Growth in Moldova." The project is funded by the European Commission and co-funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and implemented by IOM and the International Labor Organization (ILO) in partnership with the Ministry of Economy and Trade.
