Diaspora’s voice heard thanks to the Diaspora Small Grant Mechanism

The first twelve issues of the TV show “Diaspora’s Voice with Sergiu Raileanu” have been produced and broadcasted by the NGO “Moldova open to the World” in close partnership with the Moldovan Diaspora Association for the socio-cultural integration “Cittadini Moldavi In Italia”, established in Italy. The initiative with the motto “A show for Diaspora, about Diaspora and with the Diaspora’s participation” aimed at creating a communication platform for Moldovan migrants residing abroad, allowing them to strengthen relationships and extend their knowledge about Diaspora issues in three dimensions: Moldovan Diaspora – home country, Moldovan Diaspora – host country and Moldovan Diaspora all over the world. read more...

The TV show “Diaspora’s Voice with Sergiu Raileanu” touched upon many burning issues of the day, such as: Moldovan Diaspora and its role in development of the country, Visa regime and reciprocity principle, Migrants and national security in Moldova and in the host-countries, Associations of Moldovan citizens abroad, State programs and policies of the Republic of Moldova applied in regards to its citizens residing abroad, Emigration sacrifices and consequences of migration, Monetary remittances and their impact on Moldovan economy, professional reintegration of Moldovan migrants upon their return to Moldova, Diaspora’s role in investments made in Moldova, etc.

The TV show gathered the representatives of Moldovan authorities, International Organizations, Embassies and Consulates, as well as representatives of Diaspora Associations, NGO, experts and Moldovan citizens initiated in migration issues. The TV show was broadcasted through the national TV channel, as well as via internet and its interactive nature gave the possibility to all the participants and viewers to ask directly questions and initiate debates and discussions. 

The TV show  “Diaspora’s Voice with Sergiu Raileanu” was initiated and produced with support of the Diaspora Small Grant Mechanism, successfully implemented within the IOM project “Supporting the implementation of the migration and development component of the EU-Moldova Mobility Partnership” SIMP.
