The PLURAL+ Moldova 2011 Video and Photo Contest is Giving the Youth of Moldova a Chance to Express Their Opinions and Promote Changes on the Issues Surrounding Migration and Diversity

For the third consecutive year PLURAL + MOLDOVA aims at promoting youth in addressing the issues of integration, identity, diversity, human rights and social cohesiveness around the globe by recognizing youth as engines for social change in a world that is often characterized by segregation, divisions and intolerance. In a society where Migration affects every other household, a multilingual and multi-ethnic country, the voice and opinion of youth on these topics are extremely important. This year, PLURAL + MOLDOVA opens its doors also for those fond of photography and encourages young people to capture their thoughts and views on hot issues of migration and diversity at the national level. The promotion campaign of the PLURAL + Moldova 2011 will start on May 26, in the framework of the International Documentary Film Festival CRONOGRAF 2011 in partnership with the OWH Studio. The PLURAL+MOLDOVA 2011 Video and Photo Contest is open to young individuals from 9 to 25 years old, and will give participants two ways to enter: Video Section and Photo Section. Therefore, the Youth of Moldova are invited to submit either 1/ a short video (1 to 5 minutes) of any style or genre (animation, documentary, drama etc.); or 2/ A set of three photographs on their thoughts, experiences, opinions, questions and suggestions on these issues, and on promoting agreeable and beneficial coexistence in diverse social, cultural, religious and other contexts. Submissions are open until 15 November 2011. The Award Ceremony will take place on 16 December, in celebration of International Migrants Day on 18 December and the IOM’s 60th Anniversary.
